Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Review

Cleanses, oh cleansers. The most underrated things in my skincare routine but undoubtedly the most essential one. But through the years of trying different cleanser to suit my skin--a long trial and error!--I finally found the one that I'd stick with, my soulmate!

It is the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser!

You probably heard or seen this before, I know this is every dermatologist's recommendation and suggestion and every fan's favorite. And now I know why!

What it claims

  1. Soothing, non-irritating cleanser ideal for face, hands and body
  2. Helps skin retain needed moisture
  3. Rinses easily and leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and healthy
  4. Mild enough to clanse a baby's skin
  5. Non-comedogenic
  6. Fragrance free
  7. pH balaned

Price

Let's start off with the price. To think of, this facial cleanser is quite expensive for me as I am still a student. The one I'm currently using is a 250 ml. I bought it from a local drugstore for Php 385.00. You may want to buy the smaller ones first to test how your skin reacts to it before purchasing the bigger ones. Nevertheless, it is still a good deal as a bottle can last me for a month and half.

The Product

The consistency of the product is thick and it's kind of an off-set white in color. I really appreciate that it is fragrance-free because usually, cleansers that have fragrance tend to irritate my face and gave me break outs.

My Experience

So far, in the 5 months that I'm using the product, my pimples start to shrink and lessen. At first, when I started using this, I have a break out though I guess it is just my skin adapting to the change. But I continuously used this until now, and so far I'm loving it!

I use this every night and morning. Take note that it doesn't produces foam but this is not to say that this isn't effective. It still removes the dirt and gunk in my face without stripping my necessary oil or leaving my face tight and dry. I love the feeling after I rinse the product, it gives me that hydrating and supple sensation to my face. It is as if a cleanser and a moisturizer in one product.

What I Like

  1. It is gentle, doesn't contain soap formulation.
  2. Moisturizes my skin.
  3. Doesn't gives me breakouts or pimples.
  4. Doesn't contain any harsh chemicals.
  5. Keep my oiliness at bay!

What I Don't Like

Nothing! It's that good.

Recommendation

If you are suffering from acne, you might consider this cleanser as an option. Also, to those people who are new to the skincare world and doesn't know what cleanser should they jumped into, this product might be perfect for you. Though if you experience irritation or breakouts, stop using it. After all, everyone skin is different. So always patch test first!

Get Rid of Acne in 5 Ways

Acne might be one of the most annoying and stressful thing one might deal with. It doesn't just affect your overall appearance, but you might find your confidence to face other people dragging down. All because of those pesky breakouts!

So here are 5 ways to get rid that acne once and for all!

1. GENTLE CLEANSER
Be cautious in purchasing products to put in your skincare routine. Invest products that doesn't contain harsh chemicals.Cleansers that give you that stinging and tightening feeling afterwards can be bad for you. It will strip away the all natural oil that our skin produces--which our skin need--thus, making our skin think to produce more oil instead, leading to breakouts. Spare a minute to scrutinize the ingredients.

I really recommend to you Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser For All Skin Type. This product don't have that tons of ingredients. It doesn't break me out or irritate my skin and it keeps me hydrated! I've been using this for a year now, and I don't regret it.

2. ALWAYS MOISTURIZE AND PROTECT
You might think putting moisturizer will make your already oily face oilier. It's not. It prevent and treat dry skin, and holds water in the outermost layer of skin. Moisturizing is a great way to balance the natural oil in your face.

Protect. Always and never forget to apply sunscreen. Our skin is our first protection, and it is exposed to external risk in our surroundings. If you have acne, exposing in the sun can leave your pimples dry and hard to treat. It can also make them leave scars and hyper pigmentation!. So invest a suitable sunscreen with high SPF value.

3. TRY OIL CLEANSERS
Yes, you heard it right. Oils to your face. Trust me, it. will. not. make. you. oilier.
The notion behind this is that like dissolves like. Your water-based cleansing might be not effective in cleaning those oil-clogging dirt in you face as water dissolves water, and oil dissolves oil. Yep.

The product I'm currently using right now is the Human Nature Gentle Cleansing Oil.

I suggest you read this article from buzzfeed about oil cleansing. https://www.buzzfeed.com/alisoncaporimo/oil-cleansing?utm_term=.syzKP5xorp#.jl4KO1AdDQ

4. DRINK WATER
I will not list here the thousands of benefits and reasons why you should drink eight or more glasses of water everyday, because come on, it's water! But I'm certain for one thing, it will help you clear that bumpy, red face you're tired of.

5. KNOW THE THINGS YOU PUT IN YOUR FACE
Sometimes, the products you think can treat your acne can be the main culprit of why you keep on having acne. The thing is, people use a lot of products which contain a lot of pore-clogging ingredients. Make sure your make up and skincare products contain labels in their packaging that says non-comedogenic--which means it doesn't clog pores--and fragrance free.

Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer Review

Before, I don't really give much attention on my face. I don't even have a proper skin care routine back then, just the traditional bar soap and I'm good to go!

But, that was a long time ago . . .

As I became more conscious on my looks, I have notice how dry and flaky my skin was! You know that thing when you scratch your nails on to your arm and it leaves dry white lines? That was what I felt sometime ago!

So I searched for an affordable moisturizer to start with in the internet. Then I stumbled across the Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer.

Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer|50 ml
EXPERIENCE:
At first, I was a bit skeptical, thinking that it can be greasy in the usual hot weather of the Philippines. But I have no choice to treat my dry face-which triggered my acne that time because I was just a student and I couldn't afford to buy those high-end, expensive moisturizers.

Gel-like, clear, and water-based

No greasy feeling afterwards
The consistency is gel-like. I use this every night before I sleep, pea-size amount is enough to cover the face.
I usually put this in the ref so it felt cold and refreshing when I apply it.

In the two weeks of using the product, I have noticed that overtime, the areas around my nose which is the driest, had soothe and even out. The redness had lighten and the miniscule flakes that I usually see had lessen. Definitely good!

Though the acne scars on my cheeks had remained the same. No drastic improvements. But on the plus side, it didn't break me out or cause any irritation. So that is superb! 😀

THINGS I LIKE:

1. Affordable Price PHP115.00 for 50ml/PHP210.00 for 100ml. This is one of the cheapest in the market.
2. No greasy and oily feeling. Most of the moisturizers out there felt like wax, and we don't want to have a face as shine as a waxed floor! Right?
3. Non-comodogenic. This means it doesn't clog pores which prevents pimples wrecking havoc to your face. Celeteque products are known to be like that.
4. Water-based so when I applied it, my face felt supple and cool. A pea-size amount will cover your face enough.
5. Basic and simple. You read it right. This moisturizer boasts nothing; no scientific exaggerations, no fancy claims, no other frills, which made me loved it! It does what it should do, to bring moisture to my already dry face. That's that.
6. It's everywhere! Celeteque has done a great job in penetrating their products nationwide. You can have it at your local drugstores and supermarkets, making it easy to find.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:

1. Nothing!

RECOMMENDATION:
I highly recommend this to those people who are suffering from dry, flaky skin and want a basic and affordable moisturizer to begin with. You might overlook and underrate moisturizers, but trust me it's as essential as your cleanser! After all, skin is the largest organ in our system, and it is external--our first protection against our environment.
So moisturizers are great in hydrating cells, thus preventing pimples to appear.
